Our Faith
What We Believe
Our faith is rooted in the historic Christian tradition and the Wesleyan heritage of the Methodist movement.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the ultimate authority for Christian faith and practice.
Salvation by Grace
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — available to all who repent and believe.
The Trinity
We affirm the historic Christian doctrine of the Trinity — one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and mission.
Sanctification
We believe in the Wesleyan doctrine of sanctification — that God's grace transforms us into the likeness of Christ.
The Great Commission
We are called to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all that Christ commanded.
Our Denomination
Part of the Global Methodist Church
Ava Global Methodist Church is a proud member congregation of the Global Methodist Church — a theologically orthodox, Wesleyan denomination committed to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Jesus Christ, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
The Global Methodist Church was formed to provide a home for Methodist congregations committed to traditional Christian teaching. We are grateful to be part of this growing, worldwide movement.
